History

Little Arniston was built in 1988 by my stepdad Ian Raffan and husband Peter.

The name was inspired by Ian and my late mom’s love of the Arniston village where they had spent enjoyable holiday’s. Their cottage Millwood was next door to Little Arniston, and is now owned by Arnold Rabie.

We built Little Arniston, originally named Millwood Too, as a holiday home, but eventually moved there permanently when our children left school in 2000.

We loved our life at Kaysers and commuted daily to work in East London, where Peter worked as a Managing director for a roofing and painting company and I worked as a bookkeeper at St Dominics Hospital.

In 2008 we decided to move inland to Hogsback and bought a property now known as Maple Grove which we run as a successful accommodation establishment which comprises 3 cottages.

My sister, Karyn, lived at Little Arniston when we moved to Hogsback and is still a Kaysers Beach resident, and manages Little Arniston, as well as a few other holiday rental properties.

We still love to holiday at Kaysers beach when the weather gets too cold in Hogsback, and hope to offer holidays to guests at Little Arniston and at Maple Grove – a seaside and mountain getaway!
